17 years ago today the world would change in the oust unassuming of ways, the Bitcoin white paper was published and shortly after the mining would begin. You are hard pressed to find someone today who hasn’t of Bitcoin with 24% adoption across the U.K. it’s very much in people’s minds and wallets. In fact it even had it’s ‘bazzinga’ moment back in X when TV Sitcom Big Bang Theory paid ommage to it by basing an episode on a missing usb stick with 100s of Bitcoin mined in the early days. In real life we have a man spending millions trying to excavate a dump to find missing Bitcoin. So Bitcoin it is safe to say has legitimised itself and is a mainstream currency with bank cards being issued by crypto exchanges and governments around the world starting Bitcoin reserves in the race for Bitcoin supremacy.

However we still don’t know who created it!
The anonymity of Bitcoin’s founder is a mystery for the ages with various names having been cropped up in the crypto world but never anything solid and irrefutably true, anyways let’s dive into the suspects as pointed at by promoted crypto figures:
Donald J. Trump
Likely a jest but Cz Founder of Binance who was recently Pardoned posted on x “President Trump and Satoshi. Might be the same person. 🤷♂️” which may seem unlikely given his early scam remarks but since the Trump Family is all in on Bitcoin and the President he has a track record of misdirection.
The CIA
This is an early speculation that some still believe and Trump did change his view on Bitcoin post the presidency so perhaps it has some legs ? The idea that CIA who is known for Snowden style surveillance though would create a financial revolution that is the opposite of control, is somewhat not adding up.
Elon Musk
A more likely candidate known as the Einstein of our Age, if you ask J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimond. Elon is redefining space travel, putting an end to climate change and bringing free speech to the world as well as robotics, AI and his work at DOGE. Elon is exactly the kinda candidate you would expect to start a financial revolution but nothing concrete to pin the Einstein of our time to Bitcoin.
Nick Szabo
The mind behind Bit Gold a precursor to Bitcoin, sharing many similarities built in 1998. His prose, his proofs, his phrases echo in the whitepaper. If Satoshi had a pen, Szabo held the ink. However it’s more likely his work was built upon.
Hal Finney
The first to run the code, the first to receive the coins. A cypherpunk with reusable proofs and a runner’s stride. gone silent just as Satoshi vanished. He didn’t just touch Bitcoin; he breathed life into it. Could be but the evidence is still circumstantial.
