If it’s the White House or House Coin disruption of what we believe to be true, the crypto market is moving at an unprecedented pace, and it’s becoming the Wall Street of our time! If you haven’t clocked it yet, adjust your Rolex, for a new reality is ready to dawn.
It’s a gamble
One outlier of the crypto revolution is memecoins, which don’t have substance but are driven by fandom. Everyone’s heard of the infamous Trump Coin, officially dubbed $TRUMP, a memecoin launched on 17 January 2025, days before Trump’s second inauguration. It exploded from $0.18 to a high of $74.59, hitting a $15 billion market cap at its peak, driven by Trump’s social media hype and his fanbase’s enthusiasm.

If you got in at the ground floor, you might’ve made a tidy profit, but by August 2025, it was down to $8.64, with 80% of its supply held by Trump-affiliated entities, raking in $86-100 million in trading fees while 764,000 small traders lost money. It’s a classic case of hype over substance, with critics calling it a “pump and dump” scheme that’s more about cashing in on MAGA loyalty than delivering value.
House Coin is a bit confusing, as it’s billed as a housing revolution without the revolution! It’s foremost a memecoin, with no real utility, value, or assets underpinning it, but it’s speculative fun. At $0.03063 with a 75.03% surge recently, it’s like a crypto casino or the proposed plans for Fort Regent in the sunny British Isles of Jersey, which might never bear fruit but offers a nice distraction from a noisy world. The memecoin market is fuelled by speculative trends, and when big crypto exchanges changed their profile pictures to Pengu (a well-known memecoin building community through humour and fandom), it showed that betting on celebrity and fandom appeal might be a better punt than “horses for courses.”
Getting back to the point, though, House Coin, while popular in the memecoin world, is a bit like the emperor’s new clothes. We at Moneybrain understand this well, having tackled the “fiat cartel” with our BiPS token, which purchases real-world assets and gives you exposure to their value appreciation. It’s a bit like House Coin but backed by a trust that holds and distributes funds to purchase revenue-generating investments. Learn more about it here: BiPS, Learn about our Native Crypto Currency.
Although Moneybrain doesn’t believe in memecoins and focuses on tried-and-tested cryptocurrencies, we’re committed to bipartisan educational content that serves BiPS’ mission of advancing crypto education.
